Good Deeds

i've done mine for the day...

I am happy and proud. We got home from running errands this afternoon, and tim decided to try to look fpr crawfish in the little runoff stream behind our apartment. A few minutes later, these two little asian girls (i'd estimate 6 or 7 years old) came over and asked what he was doing. when he told them, they asked if we would help them find turtles. well, there are no turtles around this little stream. so i told them to hold on and ran inside.

A minute later, i went back outside with one of my little red-eared sliders. the girls were so excited! they asked if it was the only one i had, so i told them i have 4 more turtles inside. so they asked, very politely, if they could have another one because "we are just friends, not sisters." i told them sure. so i gave them another one and gave each one some food. i asked them if they had anything to put them in, and they both said "i think so." well, i told them just to make sure that they fed them in water or they would die. maybe they will die anyway, but the girls skipped away so happily so who cares?

two fewer turtles for me means less mess and more room for the remaining ones anyway...
